We collaborated with Sarah Dennis to create a hand-crafted watch face inspired by the
metamorphosis of the British butterfly. The glorious moment of transformation serves as a powerful source of inspiration.
Originally from the southern British coastline, renowned Bristol based paper illustrator Sarah Dennis has always possessed a strong desire to create a world of her own. Graduating with honours in Illustration from UWE Bristol and inspired by her grandfather's collection of old books and traditional Asian artwork, her unique style combines traditional scherenschnitte (paper cutting) with collage to create beautifully textured and intricate designs. Constantly thinking in three dimensions, and playing with positive and negative space, Sarah magically transforms paper into dynamic art forms. Her pieces interact and play with the light around them, casting delicate and intricate shadows that change throughout the day.

Sarah's delicate artwork is based around thinking in negative space. She removes shapes in order to reveal a design that plays with the light around it, casting shadows that change throughout the day. Watch the video to learn more about Sarah's incredible work for DIAL.
